Kunlun spontaneous, formless form nei kung is a very old Taoist "root" practice taught only by Max Christensen, a.k.a. Lama Dorje, most often in California and Arizona, and, beginning in May 2008, in Europe as well.
I've gone to two Kunlun seminars and I really like the practice. In addition to the Kunlun practice, Max taught the Maoshan 5, a standing five element qigong set and the Red Phoenix practice which involves feeling the energy move in a specific way in your head. Too much energy in your head can cause problems so please don't try to figure out the Red Phoenix practice without taking the seminar.
Anyone interested in Zhan Zhuang will surely enjoy the Maoshan 5 standing set.
Here are some excerpts about the Kunlun practice from the book "Pillars Of Bliss";
"This method is a very old "root" practice that has it's variations in some of the Earth's oldest mystery schools."
"This rare Kunlun Formless Form of nei gung is a very powerful and yet simple way of letting go of all that is not needed."
"Kunlun helps us re-connect the fragmented parts of ourselves with the whole essence of all that there is, and all there will ever be."
"Practicing the first level of Kunlun regularly will purify the entire body as the seventy two thousand nerves, called nadis, are toned and cleared by the psychic heat generated. The end result is that the nerves can handle much stronger current, which is important because the further you go with this practice the stronger the current becomes."
"With Kunlun, we are able to absorb up to ten times more bodily energy than a normal person."
This is a very simple practice that anyone can learn, and it's performed while sitting. No experience with qigong is needed, and for those of you who do have some qigong training, I doubt you have ever come across a practice like this before.
Max Christensen seems to be a pretty high level teacher. He's really an amazing resource of knowledge about health, healing, and awakening. Not only Taoist practices but those of all the mystery schools, mongolian, hawaiin, native american, egyptian, tibetan and probably several more.
The seminars are fun because people open up and react to the Kunlun practice in many different ways, like laughing, yelling, speaking in tounges, falling out of their chair, etc. So, I highly recommend at least going to a free lecture of Max's that are held the night before the weekend seminar.
